The report of the Wheat Board states that the proceeds of the sale of the 1915-10 crop amounted to £32,0011,1)00. IMPORTANT SALE OF GRAZLXG PROPERTIES At. New Plymouth, on Wednesday, March 20, Mr. Newton King is offering, on account of tile trustees of the late R. "\ Batley, several properties situate over Mount Messenger, which, as gra/.ing runs, should attract considerable attention. The first properly to be offered is the Te Kawau Station at Tongaporutu, consisting of 3180 acres. Out of this area there are 1430 acres in standing bush, the balance being all laid down in best English grasses, with the exception of about. 70 acres in turnips and rape. The second property, known as Piri Piri, consists of 1000 acres, and is situated on rho Awukino river, and quite handy to the township. Practically ihe whole of the property lias been felled anl grassed out. The third property consists of 1775 acres, situated on the Main North road, four miles from Piri Piri, just about half way between Mahoenui and Awakino, These properties are being offered separately or as a whole, and In order to clear up Mr. lUtley's estate the trustees are placing a very low reserve price upon the farms. Full particulars can bo obtained from the auctioneer, who will be pleased to show genuine enquirers over the property. At the Addington yards there, was a smalleryarding of fat sheep and lambs. The yarding of beef was up to the average. There was a large yarding of store sheep and it keen demand. There was a brisk saio throughout, except for store cattle, which were slack. Stove sheep.—2-tooth ewes fetched to 34s (Id, four and six-tooth ewes 38s, six and eight-tooth ewes 33s !!(!, sound-mouth ewes 28s Od to 30s (Id, two-tooth wethers 27s Od, four and sixtooth wethers 30s 7d, ewe lambs 20s. wether lambs Ills 3d to 245, m.s. lambs 22s Oil. fat lambs (extra prime) to 30s Sd, prime 20s Ud to 21)5 10(1, lighter 22s (Id So 25s Id. For dairy cows the demand was spirited all through, prices ranging up to £2l 5s There was it good entry of store cattle, but the sale was dull, many lots being passed. There was u good entry of voiilers, the bulk being large calves. The demand was keen, values ranging for runners £5 ISs to £0 15s, good vealors £3 2s Gd to £5 12s Cd, fair £1 15s to £2 18s, small and inferior 5s to 28s. There was a medium entry of fat pigs; porkers were iu short supply, the values for the latter being slightly firmer. Prices were: Choppers £4 to £O, heavy baconors £3, medium £5 5s to £5 12s Od, lighter £4 4s to £5 (equal to 7%d to 8d per lb), heavy porkers £3 12s to £4, lighter £3 to £3 10s (equal to !)%d to 10% d per lb). There was a large entry of store pigs. Big sorts sold well, bringing from 55s to 03s. The demand was not so cood for small and medium.
