BOWLING.
WEST END CHAMPIONSHIP. The finals for the championships of the West End Bowling Club were decided yesterday, and some interesting contests took place, particularly in the senior championship, in which J. D. Sole met V. H. Beal in the final. The conditions were that the championship was to be decided on the best two games out of three. The first game fell to Beal 19— 16, and the second to Sole, 18—14. The final witnessed a stirring struggle for supremacy. At the conclusion of the 21st head the game was a tie, no less than three heads were burnt, and then Sole scored a point, winning the game and the championship. In the junior championship, L. H. Honeyfield defeated T. Tichbon in two games in succession, and thus won the championship. THE GILMOUR CUP. The following rinks will represent Fitzroy in the Gilmour Cup match against New Plymouth B, at Fitzroy, tomorrow afternoon: Oxenham, Weller, Brash, Smith (s.). Sole, Northern, Jury, Higgs (s.)
