A TEN MILLION LOAN. Wellington, Last Night. The Dominion says that it is understood that a war loan will be issued about March 21, and that the nominal amount will be ten million. Three Second Division class A reservists were charged before a court-martial to-day with failing to submit themselves to medical examination. They were Edward Mortimer Murnune, freneh polisher; John Roberts, prcsser; and Andrew Kennaway Hendersui, newspaper artist, all of Cliristehureh. The men, who are' conscientious objectors, pleaded guilty and offered no evidence. Roberts, in a statonu ,:(, said that, as a humanitarian, he-believed that human life was sacred, and that killing was murder, notwithstanding that it was by order of the State and under the blessing of the church. He wished to point out to the Government that it was futile to keep on gaoling conscientious objectors, because for every one imprisoned, three more would spring up. in the case of Kennaway Henderson, evidence was given that he was not an anti-militarist in tile ordinary sense. His anti-militarist, views were based primarily on an ethical foundation. The sentences will be announced tomorrow.
