SOLDIER'S QUAINT WILL.
; Everyone knows that the law (says an oversea exchange) takes the broadest view of soldiers' wills, and ?ois out of its way to do what the deftd fighter waited in a manner which would ruin the lesal profession if similar latitude were observed in dealing with the testsments of civilians. An AiVßtrnlian- soldier bov in an English hosnltal tells mfc that the following metrical ■■, will has secured probate in London:— "If I'm knocked out 'bv a bullet or bomb when over the top we go, A gallon of beer I leave to Tom, Another to squint-eyed Joe. I've borne (hp worst of a soldier's thirst Through and nights bf Woe, Give my dad the rest—but if I go West, There's a drink for Tom and Joe." There were a number of Tom 3 ftnd Joeft in the dead man's section, and the Court didn't feel itself competent to nominate llic legatees, so it turned over the Whole estate to "dad" and left him to carry out the two-gallon clause. 1
