EVERYBODY'S. "TUE WEB OF DESIRE." To-night will be the last screening at Everybody's of the World film "The Web of Desire," in which Ethel Clayton and the clever child actress, Madge Evans, delighted a densely packed house on Saturday- The 17th episode of the "Iron Claw" is also showing on this programme, and as there are only three more chapters to go the picture is increasing in interest with each fresh episode. ' TO-MORROW ANE WEDNESDAY. THEDA BARA IN "THE VIXEN." The principal attraction for to-mor-row will be the appearance of the worldfamous Fox leading lady, Thcda Bara, in a big powerful dramatic story entitled "The Vixen," 1 THE EMPIRE JUNE ELVIDGE AND MONTAGUE LOVE IN "THE GUARDIAN." A worthless fortune-hunter, and a man whose past will not stand investigation, are the opposing characters in ''The Guardian," the splendid World film drama screening at the Empire to-night and two following nights. Montague Love is the hero, and Arthur Ashley, the villain of a play which is remarkable for its original situations. The hero' is ;i prosperous banker in a rising town, and is guardian to a lovely girl.. She, by the way, is June Elvidge, and remarkable acting characterises the first scenes of the drama where she appears as a beautiful boarding-school scholar, infatuated with a handsome rascal. The guardian on meeting the lover, promptly forbids him to tho house. Sadly enough the scamp falls in with a saloon keeper fflio knows something discreditable in the guardian's past life, and the two blackmailers promptly join forces. Their efforts result in the flight of the guardian. He goes back to tho slum haunts that he formerly knew so well, and learns there of the plan to abduct and plunder his pretty ward. Plot and coun-ter-plot follow in swift succession, and the closing scenes are packed with thrills. The acting is of a high standard all the way through, and the production is of \iho usual matchless World standard. [The tenth episode of "The Secret Kingdom" is also showing on this programme.
