Visiliilitv was strikingly prominent on the Bth 'and 15th. Both days were followed by heavy rains. The mean maximum temperature was 77.8 deg., the minimum mean being 50.2 deg. The winds were variable, but seasonable and mild. The fresh south-east wind blowing on the 2Slh caused a fall in the temperature of 4 deg. Two earthquakes occurred on the liltii, at 1.51 a.m. and 8.52 a.m. The movement was from S.W. by W. Cloudiness ranged from 3 on one day to 10 on three sunless days. The intense ruddy sunset on the loth was the finest of the season. Following are the records of the month: Maximum temperature: 70deg. on 28th, Ssdeg. en 12th. There were no strong winds or other atmospheric disturbances during the month.
