VENICE BOMBED. London, Marcli !• Mr. Jeffries reports that Gothas on the 26th dropped a hundred bomb.* on Venice, many round the Doge's Palace and the Bridge of Sighs, wlhieh fortunately escaped. The Rialto Bridge was destroyed, and two convents were struck. It is calculated that one-third, of the houses arc now in ruins- Obviously the Huns intend to destroy the magnificent jewels of architecture in Venice. POLA BOMBED. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reutev. Received March 3, 5.5 p.m. London, March 2. Italian communique: A squadron of our seaplanes flew over'Pola on the night of February 27 and dropped two tons of explosives on the arsenal and other military works causing large fires. All returned undamaged. GERMANS REPLACED BY HUNGARIANS. Received March 3, 5.5 p.m. Rome, March 2. The Corriere d'ltalia states that, Hungarians have replaced all German troops on the Italian front, and that the Germans have been sent to France.
