Mr. ,V liewley had annexed the club championship. Mr. \Y. P. Nicoll ebing runiier-up. Thanks were returned to those members who had donated the interest m; (heir debentures, also-to the ladies for j»Ui> - ins>; their matches on Thursdays and Saturdays, thus saving labor and expenditure.: Mr. AY C. Westoji was thanked for a donation of trees. The committee expressed an earnest w:-di for the speedy arrival of peace. In moving the adoption, of the report, the chairman stated that the reduction of the overdraft had been accomplished by careful management. Mr- Denny-Brown' seconded, and after very little discussion the motion was carried. ' OFFICIALS. Officials were elected ns follows: Patron, Dr. Iv A. Walker (re-elected); president, Mr. C If. I'.urgess (re-cle; .ed I; vice-presidents, Dr. Loatham and Messrs D. X. Morrison (re-elected) and W. 11. Dempscy; captain. Mr. F. S. Johns (reelected); secretary, Mr \Y. 11. Wood jre-eleeted); treasurer, Mr. J- Paton (reelected); committee, Messrs DemnBrown, R. T. MeQuade, J. Ait-tin. li. i;. Bloxham (re-elected), A. Pewley, and I'. G'. Newenham; auditor, Mr. E P. Webster (re-elected). The ladies elected their officials as follows: Captain, Mrs. F.\S Johns: committee, Misses Read, Blundell, Rollo, Leathain, Mid Mrs- R. A. Gray. GENERAL. The chairman stated that it had h«en decided to cut out the ladies' matches from the Easter tournament, iii.i a request had been received from Inglewood asking that these should be reinstated, ' as they could bring in seven bulb-.. It was decided that the ladies should ascertain what entries would lie available, i and the committee could then reconsider the matter, as last year the matches > did not. pay. . Mr. Paton stated that some of the ■ members had motor cars and others had ' not. It was very seldom that a motorist went out without a friend. In lnvercargill he understood that a book was kept in the club house, and any member who went out in this way put in a shilling with the name of the friend who owned ' the car.
