POST-WAR TRADE ORGANISATION. Australian Cable Association. Melbourne, March 1. A meeting of representatives of business men of all States approved Mr. Hughes' post-war trade organisation scheme. A delegation of French journalists and commercial men, including General Pau, is expected in June. THE COAL INDUSTRY. ; Sydney, March 1. Mr. Beeby presided at the opening sitting of the compulsory conference between representatives of the coalmine owners and miners to discuss the position of the industry, with tho view of establishing better relations between the two sides. The question jof the alleged vietimisatioli of a considerable number of miners cropped up and led to some heated argument before the conference decided to sit in camera. THE BROKEN HILL BOOM. Received March 2. 1.35 a.m. Sydney, March 1. The boom in Broken Hill Proprietary shares has eased. Shares were sold today at six shillings below yesterday'.* highest. WIRELESS COMPANY'S MEETING. Received March 1. 11.40 p.m. Sydney, March 1. At the half-yearly meeting of the Amalgamated Wireless Company oi Australasia, Ltd., the report stated that by" arrangement the Wireless Press of London und New York had decided to establish a branch in Australia. The main object was to conduct certain news services. CARD SYSTEM INQUIRY. Received March 1, 11.40 p.m. Sydney, March 1. The Royal Commission of Inquiry into the card system in the railway shops found it necessary to Mibpoena representatives of the union, who declined to attend voluntarily. Their evidence showed that thi! reason for the striking.was the fear that it meant the introduction of the American speeding-up system and other evil effects, and one witness said that another objection whm the introduction of the most up-ti>-, • : ystem in the most out-of-date workauiiu.
