BOOM IN BROKEN HILL SHARKS. Australian Cable Association. Sydney, Feb. 27.. For a couple of days there lias been a considerable boom in Broken Hill Proprietary shares in Sydney, They touched 75s and thenj receded to 725. The rise was loss marked in Melbourne and Adelaide. The cause of the advance 1» not apparent. It is partially attributed to the chairman's statement at the halfyearly meeting that the profits of the past year were .-CiOO.OOO as against ,€400,000 in the previous year, also to the rumored intention of the company to separate the Newcastle steelworks from the Broken Hill mining undertakings. Received February 28, 10.10 p.m. Sydney, Feb. 28. The boom in Broken Hill Proprietary Company shares continued. The shares touched 78s, finishing at 77s on the strength of rumors that the steelworks will be rim as a separate concern and a company floated with a capital of over £1,000.000. Other rumors _ are that bonus shares will be issued" to shareholders and the capital increased. The secretary of tht) company declare that there is not an atom of truth in the rumor that tho steelworks are to be run separtely. LONDON MARKETS. London, Feb. 27.
