There were exciting scenes in Cork County, when Sinn Feiners mobbed a party of American sailors. The Sinn Feiners cheered for the Germans, Turks and Bulgars and stoned the Americans, who charged and captured a number of youths and gave them a Bound thrashing, Finally the police assisted the sailors aboard a warship, at which the crowd flung stones until the police dispersed { them. TROOPS SENT TO CLARE MEETING OF CONVENTION. Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assoc, and Reuter. Received Feb. 28, 1.10 a.m. London, Feb. 27. The Press Bureau reports that the outbreak of lawlessness in County Clare necessitated on Sunday the sending of additional troops to assist the police. Tho county has been declared a special military area, under the Defence of the Realm Act. ' The Press Bureau states that at a meeting of the Irish Convention, the chairman reported the results of the delegation to Cabinet. After discussion- the convention adjourned till Wednesday to consider Sir H. C. Plunkett's report. MARTIAL LAW INCLARE. United Service. Received February 27, 11.50 p.m. London, Feb. 26. Martial law has been imposed in County Clare.
