\r _____ .»» Mr. A. D. Gray, of Auckland, is at present on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr. W. Rook, nf Paynter's Avenue, Fitzroy, received cable advice on Tuesday, that his second ion, Percy Arthur, of the 15th Reinforcements, was killed in action on February 11. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Lander, Westown, have been advised that Sapper C. Lander ''ns been admitted to the Mile End Military Hospital where he had his left leg amputated. He left New Zealand with the 4th Reinforcements. At the annual conference of the Newspaper Proprietors' Association of New Zealand, it was resolved: "That the members of this association in annual meet- . in" assembled desire to place on record .. their deepest sympathy with the relatives of the late Private John George List, works manager of (lie Taranaki Daily News, who recently died in France as a result of wounds received in action. At yesterday's meeting of the Tar.:naki Education Board the resignation of Miss Hogg (assistant at the Stratford School} who is retiring from the profession, was accepted as from March 31, 1018. The Hoard decided to place on record its appreciation of her long, faithful and efficient services during her term of employment by the Board. In a hospital and progress report published yesterday the following Taranaki names appear: —Dangerously ill, W. B. Williams (Hawera). Severe cases: V. IT. Mills (Hawera). Not severe, cases: C. E. Armstrong (Kakaramea), W. Rourke (Inaha), G. W. C. Karalus (Tariki), G. H. Kendall (Fitzroy), and W. MeHardy (Hawera). '
