A London cable states that Admiral Jellicoe's title will be Viscount Jellieoe of Scapa. The Rev. Father Cahill, who has been in charge of the Kaponga parish for the past Ave years, has received official notification of his transfer to the WaipawaWaipukurau district. In a casualty list issued yesterday th» name of G. B. Crosson (A. Crosson, Stratford, mother) appears among those, re ported wounded, admitted to hospital. An Amsterdam cable Reports that the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg Strelitst committed suicide. He was found in the canal near the Castle of Noustrelitz, with a gunshot wound in the breast. Mr. and Mrs. \V. Kendall, Devon street, Fitzroy, received advice yesterday from the Minister of Defence that their son, Private G. H. Kendall, had been admitted to the Milo End Military Hospital sufferinr from bronchitis. Private Kendall left with the 27th Reinforcements, Rev. Father A. D. Mnlvihill, of New South Wales, who was In charge of Haworn parish some 30 years ago, Is at present on a visit to Hawera, and renewing acquaintance with old friends and residents, The reverend gentleman bears his years well, and notes a wonderful change in this town and district.—Star. Mr. K. Elliott, of Cover street, New Plymouth, received a cable message yesterday stating that his son, Private Roy Elliott, had been admitted to hospital in Franco on February 11, owing to an inter-derangement of the left knee. He left New Zealand with the 15th Reinforcements, and hopes are expressed for his speedy recovery. A social was tendered to Mr and Mrs. W. .Simcock in St. Andrew's Church hall on Monday evening, prior to their departure from New Plymouth to Inglewood. The Rev. 0. Blundell presided and dur. ing the evening presented Mr. Simoock with a suit case and Mrs. Simcock with, a lady's hand-bag. Appreciative references were made to the, work done for the church by Mr. and Mrs. Simcock, musical items wore contributed, and supper served by the ladies, all : of which went to moke up a very enjoyable even-
