THE EMPIRE "THE RUSSIAN REVOLUTION." A topical picture of particular interest dealing with "The Russian Revolution" was one of the principal items on the programme at the Empire last evening. The camera man's task was no enviable one, as ho traversed the stormtossed capital of Russia, obtaining one scene after another- of the great rising. No vital place, person or happening has been missed, and one is transported, as one watches the unfolding of the incidents, to Petrograd itself. Snamensky Square where the first shot was fired in the' revolution is one of the early scenes, and then the fights between the armored cars of the revolutionists ana the police hidden in the roofs of the high buildings follow. The Czar's palace with its coat of arms covered with the red favors of the movement is shown, and the great Moscovsky and Alexandra Nevsky police stations are discovered wrecked and smashed by the populace. Kerensky himself is shown addressing the huge convention which assembled after the first success. Most of the other Russian notables who were prominent at the time are also shown. 1 here is a fine supporting programme including a "Pathe Gazette," the 9tli episode of "The Secret Kingdom," and a particularly humorous and clever Keystone comedy, "Oriental Love."
