THE EMPIRE "UNDER HANDICAP" A SPLENDID LOCKWOOD FEATURE. The Metro eight reel super-film "Under Handicap" was screened for the first time to an enthusiastically djelighted audience at the Empire Theatre last evening. "Under Handicap", is a typical Lockwood picture—in which brave young Americanism triumphs against corruption and heavy odds- Greek Conniston, played by Harold Lockwood, is a young man of wealth who cares for nothing but amusement. Chance leads him' to a desert town where he meets Argyl Crawford. His latent courage and manliness are aroused and he goe.? to work on her father's ranch. Crawford must finish a reclamation project within a specified time or be ruined. Greek finds out that his own father has invested a million in a rival project. How he solves his problem is powerfully told in this red-blooded story of the west. "Under Handicap" will be shown again at the matinee and finally tomorrow iiight. EVERYBODY'S FINAL APPEARANCE OF BESSIE BARRISCALE. | IN "BORROWED PLUMAGE" Settings and costumes which are a sheer delight, according to one great , American critic, adorn the Triangle play. ; "Borrowed Plumage" in which Bessie Barriscalo appears for the second and last time, at Everybody's to-night. The picture is full of sly humor and more than the ordinary spice of adventure. TO-MORROW. MARY MILES MINTE.R, The picture attraction to-morrow, will be a Mary Miles Minter subject "Periwinkle,'' a quaint and humorous offering by this dainty little lady. A special attraction to the entertainment to-mor- ■ row night will be the appearance of the gifted baritone vocalist, Mr, Fred Collier, of the Melba Concert Coy., who ib at present on a short visit to New Plymouth.
