MEETING OF ADVISORY COAIAUTTEE A meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Technical College was held on Tuesday evening, Air. J. Paton prcsid- ; tag. The chairman was requested to endeavor to secure concerted actiop with Waitara and Hawera with a view tu improvement in the railway service, so us to secure that a train should arrive in New Plymouth about 9 a.m. daily. The college re-opened .with a roll j number' of 17!) compared with 171 at the beginning of the previous year. The number of students at the end of the year was 135. Extra accommodation was .urgently required. The commercial class had grown so much that it was intended to ask for a junior assistant. A discussion took place as to the best methods for encouraging the growth of the agricultural class at the college Mr I'. A. S; Browne (Director of Agriculture) and. Mr. J. ,8- Oonncft gave much valuable informal ion on tin; subject. Finally it was decided that the Agricultural Department be approached to establish a farm in the vicinity of N r e\v Plymouth for the purpose of' teaching agricultural students. A copy of the resolution will he forwarded to the Education Board.
