In the Assembly, General Botha announced floods in half the town being submerged, in regard to the Zuhiliuid .Hoods, he stated that the village of Uijifolosi had been swept away, excepting five buildings. Of sixty-five European residents, twenty-three were saved. Mr. Burton, in introducing the railway bndget, t .timated that the year 1918-19 would end in a deficit of £908,000, to meet which the railway rates would be increased.
