From Our Own Correspondent.) El&ais, Feb. 20. The S.M. (Mr. A. Crooke) held his monthly session here to-day. The business sheet wus a light one, the principal case being that of a commission claim by Mr. J. Wheeler against M. McOarry, in regard to the sale of the mart property of ilr. Blennerhassett to Mr. 11. 11. Phillips. This marked the third hearing of the case, the evidence of all witnesses being completed. Legal argument by counsel (Messrs. Crump and Morrison) remains to be heard before the S.M. gives decision. Last evening installation of officers of St. John's Masonic Lodge was held, the installing master being the Bight Wor. Bro. E. W. Sargent, Hawera. Bro. G. H. Buekeridgc was elected W.M., and his oflieers for the year are: 1.P.M., Bro. A. N. Rogers; S.W., Bro. J. W. Harrison; .J.W., Bro. C. B. Martin; chaplain, Bro. •(. 11. Bleakley; treasurer, Bro. J. Phil-, lips; secretary, Bro. J. L. Weir; D.C.BTo. J. W. Stubbs"; S.D., Bro. M. T. Phillips | J.D., Bro. G. Kofoed; 1.G., Bro. E. E. Carter; S.S., Bro. A. H, Andrews; J. 8., Bro. H. H. Blake and T. Hodger; Tyler, Bro. A. M. Burrows. At the conclusion of the ceremony an adjournment was made to the Atheneum Hall, where members and visitors were entertained to supper. A very pleasant evening was sp'ent by all.
