OPENING DAY. Masterton, Last Night. The nnimal show of the Maatorton A. and I*. Association was opened to-day in ■ f fine but dull weather, and with a large attendance. Championships.—Lincoln ram, estate > of, late D. McGregor; ewe, Bland Rayndr. Kornney March, ram and ewe, W. Perry. Southdown, ram, W. Howard Booth; ' ewe, J. Knight (Feilding). Shropshire ram and ewe, Sir .Tames Wilson (Bulls), Shorthorn, bull, Dalziell Bros.; cow, >" W. Howard Booth. Hereford bull and cow, Ernest Short (Feilding). Foiled Angus, bull and cow, Burling Bros. Ayrshire bull, John Aitchisorv; cow, C. B. Morgan. Jersey bull, J?. Eagle; row, W.< H. Booth, Fricsian bull, Brentwood Farmer Company. The sheep dog trial was won by C. S. Hay, (lie maiden jumping competition by R. 1). Morrison's War Head, and the challenge jumping competition by H. Hasall's Micky Free, with J. J. Bryce'# Twilight second.
