.{ 1 SHE EMPIRE. A REMARKABLE MOTION PICTURE. TENSE SITUATIONS IN "A MORMON MAID." The Friedman 61m, "A Mormon Maid," featuring Mae Murray and H.obnrt Bosworth,- was shown for the first time at the Empire .Theatre last night. It depicts in nix tense reels the abominable ways of the Mormons inhabiting Utah. Lifted by a relentless fstte from their tiny world, where all was sunshine £.nd flowers, and taken into the youthful Salt Lake City colony, about which ugly rumors had been whispered, the little family of three found themselves prospering beyond their wildest dreams. But they soon learned that there was a string tied to all this wealth and lmppinesa—and it is then the vile methods of their neighbors is revealed. It came one day when the father was forced to take a second wife, despite the fact that lie and his beloved help-mate were just as much married as on the day they took their • first wedding vows. Then their charming little daughter was chosen as the sixth wife of the powerful "Apostle," and told to prepare herself for the "wedding ceremony." But all these plans are made in ignorance of the power of the youth to whom little Dora had given her heart, and who had pledged himself to the little family's welfare. Mae Murray is cast as Dora, in association with Hobert Bosworth, of "Sea Wolfe" fame, as her father. "A Mormon Maid" will be screened again to-night and to-morrow night. The eighth episode of "The Scorct Kingdom" is also showing on this programme. EVERYBODY'S JUNE CAPRICE AS "A MODERN CINDERELLA." Carefully, hidden under the thrills of "A Modern Cinderella" is a lesson for ever?' family. Every younger sister whose hopes and longings are often crushed to give "big sister" a chance; every older sister, whose eagerness for advancement often becoms gross sclftshness, and everv mother and father whose concern for their first horn often creates a heart-breaking neglect for their younger children should see this great, William Fox photo-play. "A Modern Cinderella" is jiot a sermon. It's a William Fo> motion picture and contains all the love, intrigue and breath-taking action the phrase implies. But after the family leaves the theatre, and in the quiet of the home talks over the "movie," the fitness of this rollicking play of childhood to their own household will loom up. The popular .Tune Caprice stars in this fine picture which will be shown at Everybody's to-night and to-morrow night.
