At last night's meeting of the New Plymouth Borough Council the tramways manager presented the following report for flie month of January:— .Mileagy i!in, 18,632; passengers ear:ied, li;::.passengers carried per ear inilo. 3> D > revenue per ear mile, l.ad, average fare per passenger, 1.73 d; total fares .C)l<l3 7s sd. The above records for January, 1918, show an inerea.-'c in revenue of £3B 19s "d, and Tj'ii; passengers carlied compared with the records of January, 1017. January i< undoubtedly the heaviest iiicnth of the year for our tramways system, aiid 1 eons iiler the results satisfactory. Last week the revenue amounted to £225 17s Kd. and the passengers carried numbered 31,CPS, the figures for the comparative period of la-.t year being €238 14s 2d and Hi, Toil respectively.
