ENTERTAINMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S LAST NIGHT OF ALICE BRADY IN "THE SELF-MADE WIDOW." Everybody's was packed to the doors long before starting time on Saturday night with an enthusiastic crowd of picture patrons eager to see the most popular of all screen stars, Alice Brady, in her latest World film success, "The SelfMade Widow." To say that no one was disappointed is putting it mildly, as the house was wildly enthusiastic before the close of the entertainment, and Miss Brady added the greatest gem to her already 'brilliant string of star successes. To-night will be the final screening of this picture, and it is safe to assume there will be another crowded house; in fact the numbers turned away on Saturday will be sufficient to fill the theatre tli is evening. COMING TO-MORROW. JUNE .CAPR/CE IN "* MODERN ' CINDERELLA." The dainty little Fox star, June Caprice, will head the Mil for the change to-morrow and Wednesday, in a William Fox picturisation of youth's eternal dream, entitled "A Modern Cinderella" Glorious June was never more glorious, never more charming, than the spritely young star in this delightful picture. THE EMPIRE. BIG PICTURE SENSATION TO-NIGHT. "A MORMON MAID." One of the recent big film successes of t)he world will commence a three-night season at the Empire to-night, under the title "A Mormon Maid," a picture which attacks with relentless severity the practices of Mormoiiism when at the height of its power. Nothing stranger occurs in history than the rise to power of this peculiar creed, and the stubborn obstinacy which has marked its followers. They also developed early a shrewd business sense, which is evidenced by the prosperity of many of their settlements. The practice of the "up-to-ten" wives command, however, led i n the heyday of the elders' sway to many wrong deeds, and such an incident is taken as the mainspring of the drama, "A Mormon Maid." Mae Murray is the heroine, and the supporting cast'is a strong one! The tremendous sums lavished on the production of the drama are good guarantee that the picture is a long way out of the ordinary, apart from its unique j subject matter On the same programme 'will-be shown the eighth episode of the fascinating super-serial, "The Secret Kingdom."
