THE PACT OF LONDON. TERMS ON WHICH ITALY ENTERED THE WAR. Received Feb. 16,, 5 5 p.m. Milan, Feb. 15. The text of the pact of London, determining Italy's entrance and participation in the war, was divulged in the Chamber. It stipulated that Italy received the Trentino, Istria, Dalrriatia, the Adriatic islands and the Gulf of St. Allona. Italy agreed that if a small autonomous State was formed in Albania she would not oppose the division of northern Albania between Montenegro, Serbia, and Greece. The Entente acquiesced in Italian sovereignty over certain of the Aegean Islands, also to jccrtain Italian rights in the eastern Mediterranean, and the right to increase I her African possessions if England and France did likewise. The British Government agreed to facilitate an Italian loan in London of fifty millions sterling. The fifteenth article said that England, France, and Russia pledged themselves to support Italy in declining to permit representatives of the Holy See to participate in the peace conference and in the settlement of Italy's own questions. ORGANISING VOLUNTARY LABOR. 'j TO RELEASE MEN FOR ARMY. Received Feb. 17, 5.5 p.m. Some, Feb. 16- / A decree has been issued with the oV ject of obtaining labor for agriculture, war industries, and public offices without remuneration. Members of both, sexes, aged from 14 to CO, are asked t'o offer their services, thus releasing fit men for the front. If volunteers prove insufficient, conscript)oft may become necessary. THE SECRET TREATY. DEPUTIES DEMAND AN EXPLANATION. Received Feb. 17, 5.5 p.m. New York, Feb. 10. The Sun's Rome correspondent states that the secret treaty between Italy and the Entente, which barred the Pope's war intervention, was read in Parliament, deputies demanding an explanation why the Government recently denied that the treaty existed. PROSECUTION OF SOCIALIST DEPUTY. Rome, Feb. 15. The Chamber, by 178 votes /to .19, authorised the prosecution of the Socialist Deputy Dc Giovani, who is accused of anti-war propaganda.
