This match was fixed to be played on the town green on Saturday afternoon, and the Fitzroy players put in appearance only to find that the green had not been prepared for play and no opponents present. Needless to sav, some strong remarks were made on the discourtesy, but the president of the Fit* «iy club left a message stating that the New Plymouth members would be welcome to play at Fitzroy, whither the visitors adjourned.
