Afternoon Tea—Last Thursday the members of St. Mary's Guild entertained Mrs. Hirst at an afternoon tea' at Mrs. Crooke's lovely home, before her departure for her future home in Invercargill- _ Mrs- Hirst Was presented bv the members of the Guild with a grey suede hag and cut glass scent bottle During the afternoon Mrs. D. Campbell, Miss Matthews and Miss Crooke rendered several vocal items. Webster, and Mrs. Brookmtul motored, to the Hawera Races last week. **« • • Mrs. C. E. Baker has returned from a visit to Eltham. j WEDDING CATHRO—M'KINNA. A pretty wedding took, place in StAndrew's Church 011 Wednesday, when Miss Eileen Catliro, second daughter of Sir, and Mrs. A. Cathro, Courteney St., was married to Mr. Harold McKinna, of Gore Tiie bride, who was given away l\v her father, looked cliarming in white crepe de chine worn with ninon sleeves and yoke with veil and orange blossoms, and carried u white boquet. The bridesmaids were Miss McKinna (Gore) and Miss Garner (Wanganui), the former wearing a cream silk costume daintily smocked, and black hat and the tetter a cream striped voile costume, with collar and end's funned of valeneiehne lace and black hat. Both carried blue and wnito, boquets. The bridegroom* was supported bv Mr. William .Tarvts S3 best man and Mr- Leo Bridgeman as groomsman. Miss <;. Way' presided at the organ. The church bad been tastefully decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the bride s jmivnls in Coiiriemiy street.
