"To THE DEATH" Mad:imc Olya Pclrova appeared before a lull bouse at llio Empire hist night in her great screen triumph, "To the Death," a feature picture that runs Mil? full gamut 01 human emotions. "To the Death" is a rich, colorful story of the Southland, of historic Corsica, the island on which Napoleonnvas born. The photoplay reproduces its picturesque scenery, and expert photography transfers it to the screen. Against this 'beautiful background is acted a story of dramatic lire. Bianea Sylva is the sole support of hei sister Rosa. When she goes to Paris to make the most-,of her talents foolish Eosa comes to grief. Returning, Bianca swears over the girl's dead body to follow her sister's destroyer "To the Death.' 1 The true culprit is ft secret : service agent. He casts the blame on 1 another man, the man Bianca loves. But she must keep her vow, awl she plunger a dagger in his- breast. By a miracle, all ends happily in this gripping photoplay. The scenes are divided between Corsica and Paris. All the loading critics have been enthusiastic about this latest Petrova triumph which is universally claimed to be her most powerful portrayal. "To the Death" will be screened again to-night and at both sessions to-morrow. EVERYBODY'S. LAST NIGHT OF "RICHARD THE BRAZEN" To-night will see the final screening of the original Blue-Ribbon featur: "Richard the Brazen," with Alice Joyce and (tarry Morcv as co-stars. Cyrus Townsend Brady has never written a more interesting story or Creator Vitajjraph produced a more entertaining picture. Tt simply fills all requirements of discerning picture patrons. To-morrow-alice brady in "a selmiade widow.'' Probably the most popular actress appearing in screen dramas at the present lime is the gifted Alice Brady, and all sections of amusement seekers will delight in the news that this winsome lady is the star in the World film, "A Selfmade Widow" which commences at Everybody's at the matinee to-morrow.
