EGMONT SUMMER MEETING. SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDED. Splendid weather was again experienced for the concluding day of the Egmont Racing Club's summer meeting, and the attendance was very larger The racing wan of a high order. Mr. H. Coyle's adjustments resulting in excellent finishes in all the handicap events. Principal interest centred on the appearance of Estiand in the Havfera Stakes, and though the colt was undoubtedly sore he shaped like a racehorse, and, when properly "warmed in," won nicely from Koesian and Nystad, thus completing the Lowry "mortgage'' on wcight-for-age events in Taranaki. The Atkinson Memorial Stakes) resulted in the defeat of the crack three-year-old Impediment, who succumbed to Volo in the last furlong. Otter again performed consistently, but Arlington might have reversed positions with the winner had he been better handled. Astor, 'vho was turned nut in great nick by his old mentor, 0. Jackson, beat a strong order in Acre in the Waimate Handicap. The Farmers' Plate resulted in the only regrettable incident of the meeting, Mattock, who won with a good bit in hand, being disqualified through the rider weighing in IMb short. Staccato was a firm favorite in the Maiden Scurry, and won very easily. Results: OKAJAWA HURDLES, of 150 sovs., second 20 sovs., and third 10 sovs. from the stakes. One mile and a half. 4 L.
