Jigmont Cup and Hawera Stakes dayDunedin Cup on Thursday. Dannevirke entries close to-night at 9 o'clock. The Alison brigade was sent home after the Taranaki meeting. Portland Lady is reported to be very Well at present. Look out! It Hyginas has got over his soreness "Murt" Gardner can get ready to lead in a, winner at any moment. Wishful and Nobleman have both reached Hawera, and their respective followers will not hear of deTcat. , The 'Bar Vons were never accused of liberality, but the price they quote about Nobleman—lmpediment is just the dizzy minimum. Wanganui punters have got the Turangapito fever once more. Wonder if Alex. Hall will take on the hot stuff in the Flying to-day? Some of the "dry" punters reckon it would take a team of bullocks to tear them away from Devotion and Long Range at Dunedin to-morrow. Hector Gray's luck has been pretty | bad lately, but he recovered his "punch" at Te Kuiti, where he won races, on Garryowen and Pendoon. If the track is fine at Hawera, Nobleman will be a warm order. A shower of rain, and Hyginas would carry "Moturoa's" mite. •It is stated that neither Nobleman nor Mullingar will be started in the Wanganui Cup. Polydamon has been scratched for the event. Winning Shot is always in a place, and is worth following when the opposition is not too select. There is a whisper about a promising Fordell-trained maiden named Tempo, which is said to be a trifle above the average- The new chum may be given a run at Hawera.
