CANDIDATES GETTIXG BUSY. (From On. Own Correspondent). Wellngton, Fob. 6. The candidates for the Wellington •North seat aye getting busy. The official candidate, Mr.■ Luke; who spoke in the Town Hall' this evening, is the. first to take the ' platform, hut the others will not l)e far behind him in this branch of electioneering activity. Mr. Lulce, at was expectod, made a win-thi-wai speech, claiming that the National Government was serving the best interests of the Dominion and that it ought lo be supported by all classes during the war period. There is ? possibility of n fifth candidate appearing in the person of a city councillor who has previously had political aspirations, but no announcement has been made. Returned soldiers are taking an active part in the campaign on behalf of Mr. Poison, but they are not working as an vrganijed body.
