Brown, the well-known New Zealand shipbuilder, who was recently in Sydney, in a very extensive career has encountered some curious experiences (says the Sydney Morning Herald). But he counts none more curious than that connected with the raid made by the crew of the German raider, the Seeadler, on the shipping of the 'Pacific Islarffls. Thirty-two years ago Mr. Brown built a schooner for the island trade, and she was such a fine vessel that he retained the plans and models Last year the owners had the vessel duplicated, with slight improvements in the auxiliary power, but otherwise the new vessel was a replica of the old. The new vessel arrived at Tahiti exactly a week after the crew of the Seeadler had stolen the original.
