RACE TRAFFIC.

To the Editor. Sir,—l beg to have a civil growl at the powers that be, in reference to vehicular traffic on and oft the racecourse yesterday. By whose authority was the divergence of the road made, so as to cause the new track, which has been set out for vehicles to use, to cross the patli of pedestrians twice in about three or four chains? For sheer stupidity and idiotic bungling I think it weaild be hard to beat. I always thought pedestrians claimed first place on the roads, but (he muddleheads here do not appear to realise this. This new piece of pngiiujering skill of which 1 complain is ju.'it Inside the club's grounds. I would suggest that this error be rectified before the races start to-day; otherwise accidents may occur. I am, etc., CAUTION.
