THE ALLIED CONFERENCE. COMP LET 15 UN DEI!,STANDING BEACHED. Paris, Feb. 4. M. Cleinenceau, commenting on the conference said: "We worked and argued for four days, the last day was decisive. I am delighted at the results which surpass my hopes. We reached a complete understanding on even the most delicate points." The Echo de Paris says: "General detain and Sir Douglas Haig will return to headquarters knowing that full accord has been established for the energetic prosecution of the war, and a clear understanding reached as regards what is necessary to meet the great German attacks which have been heralded." The Matin says: "A definite advance has been made towards moral and material cohesion and important decisions arrived at tending to extend the fighting strength of the armies." HOSTILE ARTILLERYING. AERODROME BOMBED. London, Feb. 4. Sir Douglas Haig reports hostile artillery activity at Lens and north-eastward of Gavrelle. The Admiralty reports that aircraft yesterday bombed the aerodrome at ilouttave, midway between Zeebrugge and Ostend. A GERMAN ATTACK. EASILY FRUSTRATED. •Received Feb. 5, 10 p.m. London, Feb. 4. A French communique States: After a violent artillery preparation the Germans attempted to attack a sector west of Fresnes. They were easily repulsed. During the last ten days of January 28 enemy aeroplanes were downed. STRONG PARTY DRIVEN OFF. INTENSE ARTILLERY DUEL. Received Feb. 0, 12.13 a.m. London, Feb. G. Sir Douglas Haig reports: A Btrong party of the enemy attempted a raid on a post north of Havrincourt, but was driven off with heavy luss. Another party rushed a post south of Armentiereß. A few of ours are missing. There was hostile artillerying east of Hargicourt and northward of Lens, in the neighborhood of Armentieres and east of Ypres. Aeroplanes dropped four and a half tons of bombs upon various targets, including Melle Ingelminster and Lichmervelde. Ten hostile machines were downed and one of ours is missing. A French communique states: There is an intense artillery duel north of toe Aisne, in the Cornillet region, the Argonne and Upper Alsace.
