N.Z.L. AND M.A. CO.'S REPORT. The NeW Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. (Hawera branch) report as follows: We held our Opunake sale on Monday, January 28th. There waa a small yarding. We quote: Fat cows £9 to £lO 15s, store cowg £7 to £7 15s, store pigs 17s 6d to £l. Our Manaia sale was held on Tuesday, January 29th. Prices were: Cows (medium) £9 to £lO, store cows £5 14s 6d, weahers (mixed) £2, bulls £8 to £8 13s 6d. Waveriey sale was held oil Friday, February Ist, when there was a small yarding of cattle but a full yarding ol sheep. Ewes were in keen demand, especially for anything in good condition. Prices were: Ewes (4 and 5-year-old) 22a to 24s 6d, 2-tooth ewes up to 36s 9d, aged ewes (in poor condition) 13s 6d to 15s 9d, shorn cull lambs 7s Id to 7s 3d, cfiws in forward condition £9 to £9 15s, weaner heifers £2 ss, store pigs 20s to 28s. ■ Our Palmer road sale was held on Friday,' February Ist when there was another large entry of cattle, and a good attendance of buyers. Prices werei Prime cows £9 to £ll 4s, forward cows £7 to £8 10s, weaner steers £3 4s to £3 15s, weaner heifers £2 2s to £2 (Is 6d, 2-year-old steerß £8 2s 6d, lambs lOs'eito 12s 3d, bulls £T 10s to £lO j 10s; Bidding was keen for all classes! of cattle.
