RED CROSS MART.

OPERATIONS RESUMED. NEW PLYMOUTH NURSES IN CONTROL. After a recess extending over the mouths of December and January the Red Cross Mart was re-opened on Saturday. The rest has been beneficial to organisers and suppliers, and the ladies, upon whom the bulk of the work In connection with the mart has fallen, have come back with fresh zeal and enthusiasm for their task. On Saturday the nurses of New Plymouth, of both the private and the public hospitals, conducted the Mart, and the results at the conclusion of the day's business were exceedingly gratifying, the sum of approximately £BO having been raised. When the Mart opened at 8 a.m. it was heavily stocked with a splendid assortment of the class of goods usually to he had there. Little canvassing had been done, except by the nurses amongst their personal friends. The amount raised shows that generous patronage was accorded.
