GARDEN FETE.
FOR MOTUBOA CHURCH ROOM. A very enjoyable and most successful garden fete in aid of the funds for the Church of England Mission room at Moturoa,was held yesterday afternoon at "Mikotahi," the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Honcyfield, on the Breakwater road. There was a large attendance, und the visitors greatly appreciated inspecting the beautiful grounds of the property. Mr. and Mrs, Honey field not only placed their home at the disposal of the committee for the fete, Imt laid themselves out personally to mike the gathering thoroughly enjoyable to all who attended, as well as profitable for the cause for which the fete was held. The Rev. E. E. Rawle was also an arduous worker in connection with the fete. A number of stalls had been tastefully arranged, and very satisfactory business was transacted Afternoon tea was served on the verandah. During the afternoon a Belecfc programme of musical items was contributed and much e«' joyed by all present. It is expected that n sum of about £ls will be cleared from the fete. Following are the names of the stall-holders:—General stall, Mesdames Bremer, Stait, and Roulston; lollies and soft drinks, Mrs. and Misses Johnston and Honcyfield. bran tub, Misses Waller and ■Socombe; afternoon tea, Mesdames 'Houeyfiew' Scott. Inch, and fiilmour, Misses Baily. Moore, George, Oliver, Bremer, and Penwarden; aunt sally, Mr. Sugden: tennis. Miss Do Launa?; gates, Mr. ICyngdon.
