The hearing has commenced of the Waterford peerage case in which George Beresford, a gardener, asked for a declaration that lie is the lawful son of the fifth Marquess who married Florence Vivian after a divorce action in 1870. Respondents allege that Beresf6rd is Ffie natural eon of Georgina Tooth, who was born in Holboru workhouse. Georgina was a sister of Mrs. Vivian's cook.
