EXEMPTION FROM RESIDENCE. T. S. Senior, lessee of R.L. Section 2, block S, Waro S.D., 466 acres, applied for a further exemption from residence, being still on active service.—Resolved to grant further extension of twelve months under the circumstances. GENERAL, The cases of five tenants who had not fulfilled conditions under which they had taken up their holdings were considered. The following CroWn tenants in block 8, Waro S.D., applied under the provisions of section 15 of the land Laws Amendment Act, 1915, for a re-valuation of their holdings:—Section 10, John Still, selected October 23, 1913; section 12. E. H. Nelley, selected November 20, 1913; section 13, A. J. Baker, selected October 23, 1913; sectiou 13, M. C. Andrew, selected October 23, 1913.—Resolved to submit the applications to the Revaluation Committee referred to in section 15 of the 1915 Act, subject to prior payraest of the valuation fee of £5 5s by each applicant. Mr. A. J. Perrett, of Huiroa, wrote protesting against selling the bush reserve in'Huiroa township,—Received. The Taranaki County Council applied for permission to accumulate "thirds" owing to scarcity of labor in carrying out works, etc.—Approved. The Waitomo County Council forwarded proposals for expenditure of accrued thirds (to September 30, 1917) amounting to £1372 5s Id.—Approved, subject to the Crown ranger's certificate. Proposals forwarded by the Patea County Council for expenditure of thirds accrued to September 30, 1917, amounting to £Bl 16a 9u\ ahd the Motoroa Road Board for expenditure of thirds accrued to September 30, 1917 (£3 7s 8d) were approved. The representatives of E. A. Pearson (deceased), lessee of section 9, block 13, Warp S.D., 1200 acres, through their solicitors, Messrs !Lec and Wedde, applied for a further extension of tune to complete the required improvements.--[Approved, granting twelve months' ex[tensios of time from October, 1917. The secretary of Taranaki Education Board made application for an additional area in 'block 10, Ohura S.D., for a school sito—Resolved to rescind the hoard's resolution of June 27, IM7, relating to section 20 and set the land aside as a school site in conjunction with lot 19 already set aside for the purpose. In connection with the granting of portions of closed road, comprising la. lr. 3Sp and 3r. 12p. respectively to Win. Sandison, lessee of section 2, block 15, Aria S.D.„ in exchange for a ro&d taken in terms of the Reserves and Other Unds Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 191?, it was resolved to include the land described in section 113 (4-5) of the Reserves Enabling Act, 1917, in the lease of section 2, block 15, Aria S.D., without alteration in rent for such addition. It was decided to authorise the Commissioner of Crown Lands to take steps to recover foy summon* tho overdue rentals up to December 31, 1917. Mr. Austin Bewley, solcitor for L. Langridgc, lessee of EJR. lot 1, sections SO3-SOB, town of New Plymouth, received the board's consent to and confirmation of certain improvements already effected nn the land, such consent being required before any improvements can be recognised as "authorised improvements" under clause 8 of the lease. The Board resolved to make a personal inspection of section 2S, Tututawa Settlement, under the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act, on Tuesday, February 26 next.
