FIRES.
A LUMSDEN CONFLAGRATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. A fire broko out at a quarter past one on Monday morning in the stables behind Elbow's Hotel, Lumsden. The flames, which spread rapidly, destroyed the post office, Griffiths' drapery shop, and Marshall's butchery. Sparks lodged on the railway station several times, but the building escaped. Elbow's Hotel escaped with a scorching.
