THiROWN FROM A TRAP By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Jan. 28. A fatal accident occurred on the Evans Bay Road yesterday afternoon A man named Harrison was driving in a trap when the horse became unmanageable and bolted. Harrison was throwtf from the trap and sustained injuries to thohead and shouldor*. He was admitted lo tho hospital, but. the injuries wero «o severe that (he died at 3.46. He leaves a widow twd a. largo family. BROWNED WHILST BATHING. . Gisborne. Jan. 28. Elizabeth Galloway, aged 22, was drowned whilst bathing at Waikanae beach yesterday afternoon. Two other girls had narrow escapes. The girls wero caught in tho undertow. MOTOR CAR COLLrDES~WITH TRAM. Wellington, Last Night. A motor 9ar and tram collided at Island Bay. The car contained Mr. and Mrs. John Whatton, their children, two adult friends, and the driver. Mrs. Wliatton's flhovtlder was injured, and the baby receiycd injuries to its head and was removed to the hospital, where it was operated on.
