Two other girls had narrow escapes. The girls wero caught in tho undertow. MOTOR CAR COLLrDES~WITH TRAM. Wellington, Last Night. A motor 9ar and tram collided at Island Bay. The car contained Mr. and Mrs. John Whatton, their children, two adult friends, and the driver. Mrs. Wliatton's flhovtlder was injured, and the baby receiycd injuries to its head and was removed to the hospital, where it was operated on.
