WELLINGTON v. AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 2(i. The inter-provincial pricket match, Auckland v. Wellington, commenced today in fine but, cloudy weather. The wicket was good and the outfield hard and fast. Auckland won the. toss and elected to bat. A feature was the bowling of Bricc and Crawford, the latter being "on" all the afternoon, taking five for 90, and the former taking four for 3tf. For Auckland the top scorer was Smith (not out) 83, made by clean cricket. Hemns compiled 23 by a careful game. Lowry made 28, also by careful erieket. Auckland's score, including 35 extras, was 218, Wellington at the call of time having 27 for no wickets.
