To the Editor. .Sir, —As a,visitor I must say the prices charged by the Marble j?ar are a scandal Just fancy (id for a glass of milk with a little sugar ami straw quill, an.l this in the leading dairying district of Targuaki! Who is this syndicate? They are out to make money, truly. It is my right as a tourist to show up their prices which 1 will do in the Wellington papers. People should refuse to satisfy such greed. I saw returned soldiers paying thi«. Such are the gasping people they have fought for,—l am, etc., TOURIST, f •'> New.-, reporter interviewed the secretary of the Marble Bar Company, who stated that the. charge for a glass of mill; is 3d and 2d if milk and water The glasses hold nearly half a pint. Milk is fid per In Wellington milk drinks,! he stated, were twice as dear as in New Plymouth.—Ed.]
