CLOSER CO-ORDINATION.
. NORTfICLIFFE'S MESSAGE 1 Xleuter's Telegrams. London, Jan. 9 Reuter has received tlie following message from Lord Niorthcliffe, head of the British War Mission to America.— 'The linking-up of all efforts and resources, not only 'between Great Britain and her Allies, hut also between the various great Dominions and Motherland, is essential, to speedy victory. Lord Reading's mission connects the two main English-speaking families, and makes for closer war efficiency. The German* have the advantage of the contiguity, and it is essential for the Allies and the outlying parts of the British Empire to get more closely together. "Dependence on mails, even cables, with the inevitable delays, cannot be tolerated at this juncture. It gives an advantage to the enemy, and so postpones decisive victory, of which 1 am mpre confident than ever; but delay mgans disaster, so I urge closer and more intimate co-ordination, not only between the Allies, but Between the Motherland, India, Canada, Australia, 'New Zealand, South Africa, Newfoundland, and all the other parts of the Empire, for I am profoundly convinced tihat close and yet closer companionship between all that the British Empire means and the United, Stateof America is the only thing that can sav.e civilisation
