Mr. Arthur Henderson'has circularised ' the labor at Nottingham, setting forth the war aims whereon the British Labor, in his view," should insist, if it is to supply the Government with the half a million more men now demanded. These aimp include the repudiation of annexations and indemnities, post-war trade boycotts, and any sort of militarism settlement, but demand reparation .for the wrongs o£ nations and individuals. Labor stands to-day, as always, for absolute freedom and integrity for Belgium, Servia, Montenegro and Roumania, and for the establishment of a league of nations aod iaternational disarmament. EMPLOYMENT OF PRISONERS. GERMANS PUT ON FARM WORK. Received Jan. 23, 9.13 p.m. i London, Jan. 22. The Manchester Guardian states the authorities are bringing German prisoners from France to work on farms in the south of England. As previous experiments have been successful, farmers have given up their prejudices against the employment of prisoners. The .latter are ten os work, i ; LABOR PARTY CONFERENCE. The annual Labor Party, conference at Nottingham on the 23rd inst. will be one of the most important in history. There will bo a thousand delegates. The agenda includes a resolution withdrawing from the Government. Another demands an early election. A strong pro-war tone is assured.
A GALLIPOLI DECORATION. QUESTION UNDER CONSIDERATION Reuter Service, xteceived Jan. 24, 1.45 a.m. London, Jan. 23. , In the House of Commons, replying to Mr. Leslie Wilson, Mr. McPherson state® that the Imperial and Dominion Governments were sympathetically considering the question of issuing a medal or decoration to the troops participating in the operations at Gallipoli, .but no decision had yet been reached. The question was extremely difficult, involving a good deal of interviewing and correspondence with the various governments concerned.
