I nthe House of Commons, Mr. Bona* Law said that all doceuments connected with the Oambrai inquiry were submitted to the War Cabinet, at whose request General Smuts examined tliem. Oncral Smuts' report was approved % Cabinet, • and was not subject to revision by Lord Derby or any army councillor. The decision not to! publish them was taken by the War Cabinet. Received Jan. 23, 12.25 a.m. London, Jan. 21. Mr. Bonar Law was heckled regarding tlio Cambrai report. He said he was aware there was a great deal of public dissatisfaction owing to the non-publica-tion of the detailed account, lmt the War Cabinet bad decided ifi was not in the public interest to give morn'information. Mr. Wogge asked if soldiers from the front were prevented from telling the facts. Mr. Bonar Law: If the rumors aro the same as those which have reached me they are entirely unfounded.
THE MAN-POWER BILL. OBJECTION" TO ITS IMMENSE POWERS. Received Jan. 23, 12.50 a.m. , London. Jan. 22. The Man Power Bill passed the committee stage after a lively debate. Many members of the House objected to the immense powers vested in a single Minister. Representatives of agriculture were particularly critical, desiring that agriculture be withdrawn from the purview of the Bill; Sir Auckland fieddes, in a sympathetic reply,' met, the objections, promising that any order under the Act should be subject to the approval of both Houses. SIR EDWARD CARSON RESIGNS. Received Jan. 22, 8 p.m. United Service. London, Jan. 21. Sir Edward Carson has resigned in order to relieve the Goverhment of embarrassment in connection with aft'airs in Ireland. .
