THE NEW ZEALAND DIVISION
DISAPPEARANCE OF THIS ANZAO CORPS, (From Our Own Correspondent). Wellington, Jan. IT. Questions regarding the disappearance of the Anzac Army Cyps and the association of the New Zealand Division with a British division have been addressed to the Minister for Defence by Mr C. J. Parr, M.P. It will be remembered that last session Mr. Parr made a very outspoken attack on General Godley, and he asks now who is the commander of the army corps to which the New Zealanders are. attached. The Minister for Defence, who is at present in the south, will doubtless make his own reply. It does not appear, however, that detailed information regarding the change is at present available. The disappearance of the Anzac Corps !s easily explained. The Australian command, lacking reinforceivents, has not been able to maintain five divisions in the field. Its four divisions make two complete army corps. The New 7fialand Division used to he grouped with the odd Australian division, the Fifth Division of the A.I.F. This odd division having gone, the New Zealanders had to be joined to a British division in order to malfe a complete army corps. General Kussell continues to command the New Zealand Division. There may naze becj a change in the command of the armv corps of which the, division is a part, but probably there has not. It Is quite likely that no detailed information will be supplied on the points raised bv Mi. Parr. The army authorities do not lightly give away information about commands and they are particularly careful to withhold from the enemy as far as possible all information as to the whereabouts of particular divisions.
