Such a quick beginner as Killowen must liave a chance in one of the sprints at Trcntham. Almoner and 80-peep promise to make good time in the Wellington Stakes this afternoon. The local watch-smasher, Silver Link, has been daintily treated at Takapuna. Palm Oil, who .won a double at Hastings, is by Maniapoto—Largesse, and was bred at Bushy, Park. The veteran Merton, who cost his present owner a "tenner," won five saces at the West Coast meetings. " Down in Palmerston the canines are barking Sir Fisher for a "snap* at, Foxton.
