OFF TO CAMP.

j MOBILISATION OF CI MEN : The Now Plymouth section of the fourth draft of CI men ordered into camp Jcft by the mail train yesterday morning. There was a good gathering of the public at the station and the men were given an enthusiastic send-off. The Deputy-Mayor (Mr. W. A. Collis), in addressing a few words of farewell to the men, noted the fact that they were the first draft to Tie sent to camp for the new year. He said very few people imagined when the first drafts of men were sent away in 1914 that men would still be required in 1918. The draft going away was not s o big as many that had left New Plymouth, but it waß the duty of the citizens to give them just as good a send-off, and even if only one man wa3 going he should he given a fitting farewell. He was sure the men would uphold the good name of the Dominion as well as those who had gone before them. In the name of the citizens of New Plymouth ho wished them Godspeed and a safe return. At Mr. Collis' instance three hearty cheers were given for the men. A number of members of the Citizens' Band were in attendance and plaved appropriate selections on the station platform, and when the train steamed away it was to the accompaniment of eheeriii" tht playing of "Auld Lang Syne," and the sounding of engine sirens. The proceedings concluded with the playing of the National Anthem. The following are the names of the men who went away: R. Blake, T. Corkill, T Crone, E. R. P. Hill, F. J. Johnson. TJ. S. James, E. J. Julian, K. Kirkby, L W. F. Lovell, K. McDonald, P. J. H. Paterson, and P G. R. Wright.
