HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPOKT. The Department of Agriouulturc, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London, January 12, from he High Commissioner for _Ve\v Zealand. (Xoie: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot): Meat,—Demand is in excess for all descriptions oFmeat, notwithstanding increased supplies of home-killed mutton and beef and Argentine beef, all selling at maximum prices. New Zealand lamb, Argentina mutton, and Argentine lamb, small supplies, lljd. Butter.—Government releasing margarine so as to supplement small supplies of butter available. Partly owing to prices being under Qovernment control; imports of Danish, Dutch, and French butters have almost ceased. Cheese.—Cheese continues in active demand owing fd continued small supplies. Hemp—New maximum prices have been fixed. Prices will be announced hi tor. Wheat and Oats.— Market quiet, no change in prices.
