WESTERN ATTACK.
GERMAN PLANS. OFFENSIVES ON TWO WINGS. Paris, Jan. 14. M. Marcel Hutin believes that the Germans will endeavor to exert pressure on the Franco-British front generally, but that the real offensive -will be on the two wings, the first from St. Kihiel ta the Swiss frontier, and the second from Armentieres to the sea. The strategic plan is to take advantage of the St. Mi'hM spur and so manoeuvre the two wings as to bring about a general descent on Paris. This is von LudendorfPs dream to impose peace before the Americni get to work.
A FRENCH REPORT. Received Jan. 16, 1 a.m. London, Jan 15. A French communique states: Accurate fire dispersed enemy detachments trying to reach our lines in the sector of Goosehill, on the left bank of the Meuse. GERMAN PEACE HYPOCRISY. SUPPRESSING THE TRUTH. Amsterdam, Jan. 14. The German authorities have confiscated the laat issue of the Zunkunft for commenting on Mr. Lloyd George's and President Wilson's speeches and asserting that the way to peace lay through Washington.
