DOMINION TOURNAMENT. START OF RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP. ■ By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Jan. H. The championship rinks started this morning in fine weather. The following rinks won in the first round: vVylie (Te.Hiwi), Marson (Carterton), Crane (Wellington), Noble (Newtown). Norwood (Victoria), Bailey (Haitaitai). The following lost in the first round: —Magnus (Wellington), Sharp (Stratford), Porteous (Wellington), Smart (Stratford), Gray (Kelburn),Underwood (Newtown), Dunedin, Jan 13, At a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Bowling Association on Saturday night, Mr. .]. Allen (Invercargill) submitted a proposal that all centres be represented by delegates at the annual meeting of the council, the delegates to be elected ten days before the date fixed for the association tournament. After discussion, it was resolved to hold over the proposal, the centres to be invited to send delegates to the tournament next year in Auckland, to confer with the council relative to an alteration to the constitution. It was decided to ask the centres to notify clubs that in any tournament, club competition or club game held under the association rules, the bowl must bear the proper stamps, this rule to :o,ne into force in October next.
